Consider Your Cookware
It’s not enough to cook healthy meals. You need to think about your pots and pans, too. Here’s some quick tips for using cookware:
- Metal utensils can cause Teflon to scratch and flake, and consumed flakes may contribute to certain cancers. So use rubber utensils.
- Stainless steel is a poor heat conductor – and you have to add fats or oils to keep food from sticking. Choose cookware with an aluminum bottom layer for better heat conducting, or use healthy fats like olive or canola oil.
